I’m just finishing up the script for a one-woman, autobiographical play —Le Grand Fromage (and yes, it’s really hard to do). As I have been working to make my actual life into a script that’s both clear and compelling, I’ve begun to notice a pattern.
Over and over, there has been a seemingly small event that has changed everything— a newspaper picked up at the right time; meeting the one person by chance who would change the next 20 years; a momentary view of a mountain that let me know this was where I would move.
I believe these moments are especially powerful calls to action if you are accustomed to listening to your inner wisdom—your intuition. But, even with your intuition on “mute”, there will have been one sentence from a boss that threw you into a new line of work; the look from your lover that made you start doubting the depth of your love…
Please tell me about one of those moments in your life. What was it and what change did it precipitate? How often do you listen to your intuition—a gut feeling—when you’re making a decision?
